The reward was announced simultaneously in 30 countries, using mass media and publications in social networks. By announcing the reward, the M. Bunkus family hopes for facilitating investigation of the M. Bunkus murder and achieving that not only murder performers, but also the full circle of orderers and supporters are found. The Bunkus family asks for providing
any information regarding the identities of orderers, executors and performers of the murder of M. Bunkus, their location and route before and after May 30, 2018, as well as any other information regarding the activities of orderers, executors and performers and/or persons related to them.
The reward will be paid from the funds of the Bunkus family. “Martins Bunkus’ murder proves that influential persons are able to implement freely their interests in Latvia by using brutal and cut-throat methods. Until now, neither murder orderers, nor performers have been found. Therefore, we, Martins’ family, wish to support the investigation team and announce a reward; moreover, we do it internationally — in countries, where the orderers, performers or supporters of the crime are, possibly, staying or could be staying”, tells Kristaps Bunks, brother of killed Martins Bunkus. Inter alia, to ensure the professional and honest investigation process of M. Bunkus’ murder,
M. Bunkus’ family encourages responding every person who has information regarding individuals, including former and/or current politicians, public officials, and other persons who, possibly, put or have put any obstacles in the course of the M. Bunkus murder investigation.
Including possible negligence and/or unlawful actions of such persons, including misuse of official position, corruption, blackmailing and fraud with regard to M. Bunkus’ murder and/or the course of its investigation. The video of the reward announcement is available here: link.
